ANILAB was  established in 1998 by Dr. Jeffrey W. Richig. It is a privately-owned limited liability company.

Dr. Richig, the company's CEO, has over 25 years of experience in electrocardiography for pre-clinical safety evaluation studies and is recognized throughout the world as the leading expert in his field. Dr. Richig previously held the position of staff cardiologist, as well as senior scientist and staff veterinarian for Ciba-Geigy/Ciba/Novartis for a total of 13 years. He established ANILAB as a company in 1998 as its president and was later promoted to Chief Executive officer. 

As the world's leading expert in pre-clinical electrocardiographic and telemetry evaluations Dr. Richig consults for a multitude of companies/institutions world wide and is held in high esteem by his clients and colleagues the world over.

Dr. Richig has recently been appointed as a Special Government Employee (SGE) to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the pre-clinical side of the cardiovascular and renal drugs division. Additionally, he is an associate member of the Cardiac Safety Research Consortium (CSRC) of Duke University and a member of the Association of Primate Veterinarians.
